Preparation is vital in successfully installing any floor. Thoroughness is essential to ensure a smooth long lasting finish. The type of preparation really depends upon the product being installed, the size of the project in general and the condition of the existing substrate. Here at G.K. Flooring North East, we also use Diamond Grind or Vanarx. Diamond grinding is used to enhance the finish, and generally systems that are more than 2mm thick can be laid onto areas that have been prepared using a Vanarx.
We provide a 115DS Blastrac machine with double headed grinder also floor planner machines and hand held grinders these machines will give your sub straight a clean light adhesion finish to make the sub straight ready to receive screeds, coatings etc of your chosen project.
In one application, Blastrac machines can clean or profile concrete or steel flooring in preparation for new coatings, removal of surface build up and anti-skid surfaces, all while leaving the floor totally dry and free of chemical residues. The machines operate by propelling steel shot abrasive onto the floor via a high-speed centrifugal wheel, thereby breaking up surface coatings in a controlled manner, and collecting the resultant flooring debris and dust in an integral dust collector, resulting in a clean floor and dust free environment.
